What's the role? As Life Insurance Underwriter Manager, you will direct and manage the operations of an Underwriting unit through the recruitment, selection, training, development, motivation, and salary administration of underwriting andu00a0office staff. Specifically, you will oversee/coordinate division workflow and manage New Business projects, customer service initiatives, workflow efforts and risk analysis of underwriters and staff, with the goal of ensuring a customer-centered communication focus at the agency level.u00a0You will participate, coordinate or independently lead complex projects to include major system and process improvement initiatives in the New Business Department.u00a0You will coordinate monthly calls with field office leadership and serve as a single point of contact for their escalated concerns about the process or a specific new issue life policy. You will serve as communication liaison/resource, providing technical problem resolution for company, company management and other companies and insurance departments regarding underwriting concerns and issues. You will develop, implement, and monitor customer service standards that will support home office and agency level staff. Bring Your Best! What this role needs: Bachelorsu2019 degree or advanced degree in business or related field. Previous management experience required emphasizing decision making, tam building, communication, personnel development, analytical thinking and project management. Prior experience working and building relationships (with field leadership preferably) Ability to lead in an active continuous and learning value stream that engages employees while delivering results with a voice of the customer focus. Success in leading change management efforts using ADKAR methodology. Demonstrated ability to manage, develop and motivate a diverse staff in a continually changing environment. Proven ability to anticipate customer needs and business issues while developing and implementing innovative solutions to achieve desired results. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build rapport, negotiate and gain acceptance at all levels of management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2007 Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
