Responsible for underwriting and structuring credit proposals for business banking and/or commercial clients. Exercise loan authority individually, and, in concert with credit and risk management to extend appropriate financing solutions to customers in the target market according to underwriting process. The incumbent may be called on to take on customer facing responsibilities in obtaining background and financial information, articulating the bank s position and negotiating more complex relationships. Business, or Masters Degree desired, with 5 to 7 years credit underwriting experience, preferred. Prior Sales and/or customer service experience also preferred.
Applies credit skills and product knowledge to analyze and decide on a wide variety of business purpose loans for medium size (business credit $100M -$500M) Small Business relationships. Occasionally provides analysis beyond normal process for business credit under $100M if required as defined by the Merlin credit specialist. Makes loan decisions, obtains Credit Policy and lending authority concurrence as appropriate and informs the originating sales associate of acceptance, decline or counteroffer decisions. Performance measured by the number of credit decisions made per day. Ability to evaluate cash flow, 2 to 5 years of credit experience.

The candidate may be responsible for obtaining background and financial information to apply credit skills and product knowledge to analyze and decide on a wide variety of business purpose loans for Small Business clients. Makes loan decisions, obtains Credit Policy and lending authority concurrence and informs the originating sales associate of acceptance, decline or counteroffer decisions.
**May be filled as an Approval Officer I, II, or III depending on experience.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum three years lending underwriting experience
Ability to manage multiple processes across multiple platforms with outstanding attention to detail
Proficient with PC applications including Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
Must have a strong and positive work ethic and follow Bank of America's Core Values
Proven experience meeting or exceeding performance goals
