Personal Lines Underwriter, to be determined based on skills, background, and experience, to support our growth initiatives. We are looking for a results oriented, experienced PL underwriter to work directly in our Jacksonville office.\r\rJob Summary: \r\rThis position is responsible for the acceptance, continuation, proper pricing, placement, and termination of risks or other policy limitations.  Determines risk acceptability by reviewing and approving new business, renewals, endorsements and cancellations.  Reviews and approves new business declinations, reinstatements and non-renewals.  Participates in a sustained program of personal field visits with agents.  Processes workflow in assigned territory and acts as a backup for other underwriters.  Accepts or declines agency accommodation requests outside of the agent’s authority.   Obtains, reviews and analyzes policyholder questionnaires, motor vehicle records, property surveys and other informational sources as may be available and takes appropriate action.  Reviews rollovers for underwriting guidelines acceptability standards.  Communicates, both verbally and in writing, with policyholders, agents, marketing representatives and others as necessary for proper servicing of insureds’ policies.  Manages customer and/or agents’ questions and complaints and applies corrective action as needed to rectify the situation within the range of the assigned responsibility and authority.  Handles routine underwriting phone calls and correspondence.
