Health Underwriter Jobs
A health underwriter job involves effective marketing, project management, and system implementation of underwriting systems. A health underwriter works closely with external clients, and collaborates with internal stakeholders in coordinating after-sales support. A health underwriter discusses status of files and requests additional underwriting information from internal and external customers; obtains information from applicants, physicians, hospitals, paramedical facilities, and inspection companies. A health underwriter should have understanding of new business profit and growth objectives evaluating risk, maintaining desired loss ratios, desired renewal retention, and developing and meeting underwriting department budget projections. A health underwriter reviews rate classifications and plans design factors used in manual rating prepared by underwriting support staff. A health underwriter examines documents to determine degree of risk.
A health underwriter requires a bachelor degree and minimum two years experience in relevant job and should have good knowledge of computer literate. A health underwriter should have customer contact experience and goal oriented and self motivated knowledge of products, image, and workflow. A health underwriter must have excellent verbal and written skills, interpersonal skills, and analytical and problem solving skills. A health underwriter should also have familiarity with health related methods.
