The following article is a profile of the stockbroker industry and the job duties of stockbrokers overall. If you have an interest in becoming a stockbroker, read on and determine if this is the field for you.

Just imagine the plight of the industries, if there never ever was a public share, who would have invested large sums in every company on earth. There is a difference on how a private limited company works or for that matter, a functional aspect of deemed corporate is different from a private limited company and yet again there’s a huge functional layout difference of these two from public limited companies. A private limited company is one who are not suppose to issue shares in the market , they raise their funding through venture capitalists and investment bankers such as the earlier Lehman brothers, these are companies who work within their capital limits, doesn’t believe in huge investments, likes to stick with targeted clients and manage their clients through limited staff, but on the other hand deemed companies are too fat, they somehow carry the notion of working within their limits not because they don’t have money, they are rich corporate and feel satisfied with their already huge clientele, they also do not go looking for funding as it is with these private limited companies

A public limited company is different, they are the ones who call the shots these days, big fat companies and they become fatter because they eat much more. A government regulation has it, when they had put down saying that when a private limited company crosses a certain annual turnover target, they are offered to turn public and that means the private companies can now issue shares.

Now, why should a company issue shares as such, and what profit does it achieve by turning public and issuing shares. By issuing shares, companies get access to the common man’s fund, shares is the public offer in the interest of corporate, big corporate I should say, and the shares are then bought by these ordinary people to become an indirect shareholder in the company files, and this is where a share broker comes into play.
A share broker is defined as one who conducts financial securities dealing on behalf of individuals with the company. He is indeed a sought after individual both by the corporate and the normal citizens, the corporate needs these guys, and they do make a difference, it should also be noted that stockbrokers are the one’s who has brought a meaning to the share market on the whole. ‘Stockbroker jobs ‘are very challenging, only the fittest survive. He or she definitely needs a formal degree. Different countries might have criteria which could be different. In the United States, though, an aspiring stockbroker should be a general securities representative exam pass out. The exams also known as ‘series 7 exams’ hold a lot of significance for ‘stockbroker jobs’. He is a guy who should bring a lot of charisma to his profile, and that is exactly what is required. Confident people make a lot of difference in the entire function of ‘stockbroker jobs’. Brokers, as I wrote earlier is quite sought after, because of the advent of large number of multi nationals in the stock exchange list and each of these companies are trying to engage in stiff cut throat competition. The stockbrokers guide individuals and companies whether to purchase certain shares that are lying in the market or not, their inputs are considered vital. That’s the reason private brokerage house rope in shrewd, calculative guys, brokers who have the ability to decide on the spot. Firms such as Good boy stockbrokers are a reputed firm in the US. They are the one’s who also pay handsome, apart you will come across few of the brokerage firms in Triad, north Carolina, working for Indian share market online is not a bad idea. The bottom line is stockbrokers should try looking for emerging markets and that is where profits lie.

‘Stockbroker jobs’ has a reputation of being lucrative. I will like to mention the profits of a brokerage firm, called Wachovia securities who reported earnings of $2.3 billion in just the first quarter of 2007, individual stockbrokers also are highly paid, some work as a freelancer and make good profits, and others work for a brokerage firm. A genius stockbroker earns somewhere around $2, 44,000 annually, and mind you, that was the record earning in 1988. Generally speaking, individual stockbroker who earns below $50,000 annually is considered a below par earning and will be better advised to take a clerks job in one of the brokerage firms, and brokerage firms won’t mind that, I believe. Talented brains who can convince people and who has the ability to talk through, can walk with the money as well. They are the one’s who are earning $100 plus annually.

Lately, the ‘stockbroker jobs’ are facing stiff resistance from the financial planners, as the financial planners had entered in the industry with a package. These planners are providing every financial service, right from insurance coverage to banking solutions and picking up shares for their clients as well. These guys are the real threat to the stockbroker industry and I would say, it could be even dangerous for the stock brokers as stock brokering is a specialized field, an overspecialized one, that caters to a single service but financial planners are bent on providing every financial solution to their clients and therefore once the client steps on to the office of these financial planners, you can be assured he will never be your client. Stockbroker industry definitely has to arrive at a conclusion as a whole, to decide what best can be done in order to restore their place in the market and also in the minds of the so called clients. One aspect, though will predominantly remain, financial planners can never provide the quality inputs that a stockbroker can offer you. Specialization will always rule over generalization. There will be opinions and examples, as when buying everything under one roof, but you will still prefer going to a branded exclusive showroom when you buy a shirt, instead of hopping to a shopping arcade or a huge departmental store.
